Product Lifecycle and Corresponding Operations
There are two ways to post product. Please refer to detailed document.
- aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.postaeproduct: post products in English.
- aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.postmultilanguageaeproduct: post products in Espanol or Russian
After the product is posted, there is an approve process before it's online. The approve process is to check if there is any infringements/ban/limit on the product. If no, the product will be online. Before the product is approved, it cannot be edited.
When posting products, there is a parameter “ws_valid_num”, which defines the product online days. After that number of days, the product will expire and the status will be offline. So if you want to keep the product, please use aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.renewexpire to renew the expire date to 30 days later (comparing to current time). This operation is available only when the expire date is within 3 days. If the expire date is more than 3 days, this operation won’t take effect.
If the product is already offline, aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.onlineaeproduct can be used to online the offline product. You can also manually offline the product by aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.offlineaeproduct.
A product is allowed to be edited only if its status is either online or offline. There are several edit operations:
- Update whole product information: aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editaeproduct
- Update multilanguage information (except English): aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editmultilanguageproduct
- Update stock information: aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editsingleskustock and aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editmutilpleskustocks for single or bulk stock edits.
- Update price: aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editsingleskuprice
- Update single field: aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editsimpleproductfiled, not all fields are supported, please refer to the API document.
- Update category, SKUs and product properties: aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editproductcidattidsku
- Add/overwrite product properites: aliexpress.postproduct.redefining.editproductcategoryattributes
Appendix
What can I do if the product is not approved
You can appeal in 7 working days and the appeal opportunity is only once. Please go to http://posting.aliexpress.com/wsproduct/manage/list.htm?type=reject for detailed instructions.
If the appeal is successful, the product will be online if it hasn’t expired or will be offline if it expires. This is not included in the lifecycle diagram because these are unusual cases.
